The event was held in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/riopluscentre.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rio+ Centre<\/a>, also known as the Global Center for Sustainable Development.<\/p>\n<p>The event included a presentation from Professor Marius Olivier, Director of the International Institute for Social Law and Policy (IISLP) in South Africa. There was also a roundtable discussion with L\u00facia Modesto (Programs Integration Subsecretary at the State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Human Rights, RJ), Professor Pedro Cl\u00e1udio Cunca Bocayuva (Center for the Study of Public Policy and Human Rights, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro \u2013 UFRJ) o Diretor do Rio+ Centre, Dr. R\u00f4mulo Paes de Sousa, and the BPC researcher S\u00e9rgio Veloso.<\/p>\n<p>The debate focused on four main topics: a Brazilian perspective on the contribution of South-South cooperation to social security in Africa, the current scenario of social policies in Brazil, a territorial perspective on social protection systems, and the lessons Brazil can learn from the experiences of African countries.<\/p>\n<p>The Rio+ Centre was established in conjunction with the Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development.
