The Political Economy of South-South Relations research group, affiliated with the CNPq and the BRICS Policy Center (PUC-Rio), has concluded another semester of activities. The group is composed of professors and undergraduate and graduate students from PUC-Rio and UFRRJ, with the aim of analyzing investment, trade, and credit flows among BRICS countries, as well as between these countries and Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n
Ongoing research focuses on collecting empirical data related to investment volumes, sectors, companies, and their social and environmental dynamics. At the same time, the group seeks to develop broader analyses on the reconfiguration of global capitalism and China\u2019s role, with the goal of contributing to the formulation of public policies aimed at sustainable and inclusive development. Classical authors and recent texts are discussed, contrasting different theoretical approaches and research methods.<\/p>\n
In July, in addition to the group\u2019s monthly research updates, a panel was held at the DPLST-LAC-ABRI International Conference, entitled “China’s Economic-Diplomatic Relations in Africa and Latin America: Critical Views from Brazil.”<\/p>\n
