Between April 22 and 24, the research assistant, V\u00edtor Costa, represented the BPC at the event Emerging Technologies and New Frontiers for Employment in Rural BRICS+ Countries<\/em>, organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) at its headquarters in Bras\u00edlia. The event took place in parallel with the meeting of the BRICS Employment Working Group (EWG), which adopted a declaration on the theme.<\/p>\n

On the first day, V\u00edtor introduced the BPC, highlighting our ongoing contributions to the debate on South-South Cooperation. Throughout the event, activities were held to foster dialogue among participating organizations and to jointly propose guidelines and recommendations related to Just Transition and the automation of the world of work\u2014priority topics under Brazil\u2019s presidency of the BRICS.<\/p>\n

On the final day, V\u00edtor was among those selected to present to the EWG and ILO delegations the projects and recommendations developed collaboratively by participants. Notably, he presented a proposal co-developed with Professor Tianyi Wang of China Agricultural University on the ecological restoration of grassland ecosystems\u2014such as the Brazilian Cerrado\u2014through the integration of local knowledge, artificial intelligence, and decent working conditions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
