On April 3rd, Maria Elena Rodriguez, Deputy Director of the BPC, took part in the seminar “Opportunities and Challenges for Brazil in the New International Geopolitical Context,” organized by the Joaqu\u00edn Herrera Flores Institute, the Marielle Franco Program, and the Human Rights Secretariat of Maric\u00e1.<\/p>\n

In her speech, Rodriguez reflected on the possibilities and challenges facing BRICS, considering that the world is in constant transformation. She addressed the emergence of the term and the formation of the BRICS group, as well as the creation of the New Development Bank. She highlighted the bloc\u2019s maturation as a political and economic alternative to the multilateral institutions established in Bretton Woods.
