Among the various types of firearms used in the region, rifles serve as a case study to examine the emergence of violent dynamics and identify effective entry points for policy responses and international cooperation initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Global South Unit for Mediation (GSUM)<\/strong>, in celebration of its 10th anniversary, announces that registrations are open for the dialogue <em>&#8220;Circulation and Control of Weapons in Latin America&#8221;<\/em>, which will take place on Thursday, December 5, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The dialogue will feature professors from IRI\/PUC-Rio\u2014Monica Herz, Lu\u00edsa Cruz Lobato, and Vict\u00f3ria Santos\u2014who will present the findings of the project <em>&#8220;Mapping the Transnational Circulation and Control of Small Arms in Latin America&#8221;<\/em>, conducted with the support of the Swiss Network for International Studies (SNIS).<\/p>\n<p>The event is part of the <strong>Cycle of Dialogues on Conflict, Violence, and Peace in the Global South<\/strong>, organized in celebration of GSUM&#8217;s 10th anniversary, an initiative of the BRICS Policy Center.
