With the exception of Argentina, which declined the invitation, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia and Iran joined the group on January 1, 2024. On the way to the 16th BRICS Summit in October, to be held in Kazan, Russia, the &#8220;BRICS+ in Dialogue&#8221; event proposes a conversation with researchers from the new BRICS+ members, seeking to understand their perspectives on joining the group on key issues such as global governance, sustainable development, energy security and economic cooperation.
