The activity, mediated by Prof. Marta Fern\u00e1ndez, was the second meeting of the Cycle of Dialogues on Conflict, Violence and Peace in the Global South, which began in August and will continue until November 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Based on feminist theories, professors Tatiana Moura (Observat\u00f3rio Masculinidades.pt and CES\/University of Coimbra) and Hayd\u00e9e Caruso (University of Brasilia) debated the impacts of traditional male socialization on the perpetuation of violence, both physical and symbolic, and the role of empathy in transforming these dynamics. The professors also presented public policies and educational actions they have developed to promote gender equality and build more inclusive, caring and non-violent masculinities.
