On March 26, the BRICS Policy Center hosted the launch event for Climate Tracker Latin America’s Guide to Green Industrialization and New Development Models.<\/p>\n

Climate Tracker is an international non-profit organization whose aim is to support and mentor better climate journalism around the world. Its Latin American office conducted a survey on green industrialization in Brazil, Chile and Colombia with researchers from the three countries. The result of this research is the guide, which seeks to help journalists and editors understand these processes of green industrialization and new development models in the three countries. The event to launch the material featured a round table with the participation of Maria Beatriz Mello, author of the research on green industrialization in Brazil (and also assistant researcher at the BRICS Policy Center’s Socio-Environmental Platform); Marina Almeida, energy analyst at the E+ Energy Transition Institute; Cloviomar Caranine, a technician at the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socio-Economic Studies (DIEESE); and moderated by Marcela Martins, mentor in Brazil for Climate Tracker.
\nThe panel discussed the different understandings of green industrialization in each of the three countries, focusing on the Brazilian experience and national projects for industrial development that seeks greater sustainability and decarbonization, as well as the relationship with the energy transition agenda.<\/p>\n
