The debate, mediated by IRI professor and BPC researcher Maria Elena Rodriguez, was attended by researchers Maria Villamar (UFRRJ), Thiago Rodrigues (UFF) and Lu\u00eds C\u00f3rdoba Alarc\u00f3n (Universidad Central de Ecuador). On the occasion, the debaters analyzed the domestic and international causes of the violence perpetrated by organized crime in Ecuador and made connections with the situation in Brazil, taking into account, for example, the link between organized crime and the prison system.
