The composition and conduct<br \/>\nof DBSA\u2019s Board of Directors are regulated by the Development\u00a0Bank of Southern Africa Act, No. 13, of 1997; by<br \/>\nthe Public Finance Management Act, No. 1, of 1999; css_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DBSA is a self-financed institution with funds stemming\u00a0from domestic and international capital markets and from<br \/>\nbilateral and multilateral institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Bonds are issued in the domestic capital market, while lines of credit originate from agreements with commercial<br \/>\nand international banks, as well as \u201cdevelopment financial\u00a0institutions\u201d<\/li>\n<li>In 2002, the DBSA set up the Services Unit Management\u00a0Agency in order to increase its capacity to implement and<br \/>\nmanage programs in the country and in Southern Africa.<\/li>\n<li>From 1997 to 2012, the African Development Bank (AfDB)\u00a0granted the DBSA five lines of credit to finance infrastructure<br \/>\nprojects in South Africa and Southern African\u00a0region.
