BRICS<\/span>\u00a0Civil <\/span>Society <\/span>F\u00f3rum<\/span><\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”normal” border_style=””][vc_column_text css=””]The BRICS Civil Society Forum, also known as \u201cPeople-to-People\u201d (P2P), is a meeting place for civil society representatives from the group countries, covering various areas of activity. Its main objective is to foster dialog and cooperation between member countries in search of joint solutions to regional and global challenges. The initiative aims to increase the participation of popular movements and social organizations in the construction of public policies and the promotion of sustainable development among BRICS members. Based on the discussions held during the Civil Forum in Russia in July 2024, the BRICS Civil Council was created, later recognized and supported by the heads of state in the Kazan Declaration.[vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

At the end of each Civil Society Forum, which takes place in the countries hosting the summit, a collective final document is produced, to be delivered to the heads of state, with the active participation of broad sectors of social movements and civil society in the member countries. This effort will be made possible through the work of the national representatives of the BRICS Civil Council.[vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

The BRICS Policy Center<\/strong> (BPC) has been consistently present at various editions of the BRICS Civil Forum, consolidating its position as one of the main Brazilian institutions in the articulation between civil society, academia and political processes within the bloc. This continuous participation in summits held in Russia, India, China, South Africa and Brazil is evidence of the BPC’s commitment to strengthening a more plural, inclusive and interest-oriented diplomacy for the Global South. Actively involved in thematic working groups, the BPC has contributed with reflections and proposals in areas such as ecology, finance, artificial intelligence and institutionalism, always with a focus on valuing diverse knowledge, protecting biodiversity, promoting social justice and democratizing decision-making bodies. Their contributions have been fundamental in enriching the debates and guiding the recommendations forwarded to heads of state, helping to build fairer and more representative public policies.[vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n
